Our thanks to Delegate Bilal Ali (41st District), who became involved in the investigation of the proposed Baltimore Clayworks sale when the matter came before the Capital Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, in a briefing on May 2. (Details here.)  Since that time, he has steadfastly stood with his constituents and others in the Clayworks Community to question the sale and request additional information and deliberations.

Delegate Ali also wrote to each member of the Board of Public Works, concluding:

“I fear that the sale of the two buildings will be the death knell of this outstanding institution that is so important to the citizens of the State of Maryland. And I therefore, respectfully and strongly, request that you do all in your power to halt the sale.”
